Draw Blackberries in Coloured Pencil

Hello, I'm Emma. I paint botanicals from life in my studio in Worcestershire, and I teach people all over the world to do the same.

It is blackberry season, and this hedgerow cluster is a lovely coloured pencil project for it. You'll draw three berries at three stages, one still pale red, one just turning, and one fully ripe and black, and learn how the shine sits on every little segment. By the end you'll have a finished piece full of September.

Pop your email below and I'll open the full video tutorial for you straight away, with the line drawing and the reference photo to download and print. It costs nothing, and you'll also hear from me when new free tutorials and live classes come up.

Our project for May is a juicy branch of Blackberries. These berries are always fun to draw with their high shine. I hope you enjoy this tutorial.
