May Bonus Tutorial - Red Chilli on Drafting Film
A botanical art tutorial by Emma Tildesley.
I know some of you have been interested in learning about Drafting Film, so for May's bonus video I thought I would put together a beginner drafting film tutorial. In this tutorial we focus on getting to know the surface and building smooth layers. I chose the Chilli so that we could keep colours to a minimum and focus on the techniques. I have used mainly all Polychromos for this with just a few Luminance. Pencil pressure is the most important thing to remember when working on drafting film, a consistent light touch will allow you to apply multiple layers.
If you don't have drafting film this can still be done on Hot Pressed paper, but you would save the white of the paper for your highlight instead of using a white pencil.
I hope you enjoy this one :)
